the BeadBox has been a vital part of Boone life since 1997. the coffee lounge was added in 2005. we're a family owned and operated business, with a handful of amazing people working here. we're dedicated to helpful, friendly service, the best in one-of-a-kind wearable and functional art, and delicious fair-trade, organic coffee. all of the folks here like to inspire and encourage people's creativity by teaching a few tricks of the trade. we're grateful for the conscious and supportive community that makes this place what it is, a fun atmosphere where we create, make connections, and inspire one another.

the possibilities are endless. you do not need an appointment, just come on in and we can take a look and help you on your way to a revived jewelry box!.

sometimes projects will take longer than others or we may be a little busy in the store to complete your project that day. if we are unable to finish your jewelry while you wait, or you are in a hurry, dont worry, we can complete it and give you a call when its ready within a few days!

we do have small labor fees for helping you complete your jewelry projects, here is an idea of those costs:

Basic Earrings start at $2/pair

Chandelier or Intricate Earrings start at $6/pair

Stringing or Re-stringing Necklaces & Bracelets 50 cents per inch

Wire-Wrapped Rings - start at $5

Pearl-Knotting starts at $1/inch

Hemp/Macramée starts at 30 cents per inch

Pendant Loop on a Bead start at $2

Wire-Wrapped Pendants start at $8

Adding Clasps to a Necklace Cord - $1-$2

(note- these prices do not include the cost of any materials or beads)

classes

We offer two types of classes. all classes are set up privately-just call or come in and we will work out a date and time that works for you.

beginning basics

in this class, you will learn how to make earrings using simple wire-wrapping techniques, design and finish beaded necklaces & bracelets using a crimping tool and softflex wire.

$25/hour

wire-wrapping

this class is for the beginner or advanced wire-wrapper. it is a private course and the content varies on each students experience...from wire-wrapped rings to fancy pendants, the sky is the limit.

$35/hour

some things to think about:

materials are not included in the class price, but you are welcome to bring your own beads & materials from home. But don't forget...

You will receive 20% off your entire purchase the day of your class :: a great time to stock up on tools, findings and a new bead collection to start your new hobby

we do ask that you plan on coming in 15 minutes before your class time to pick out beads and browse design ideas from our pre-made jewelry.

cost: $12 base per child

reserve the seating area ahead of time for up to 12 children. each child is given an additional budget (anywhere from $5 to $10 is plenty) and keeps track of the beads he or she chooses. one may use all of his/her money on an animal bead or charm to use as a centerpiece, while another might spend his/her budget on smaller, less expensive beads to sprinkle in special beads throughout the necklace. this allows each child to create a unique necklace. we provide small colorful spacer beads to fill up the rest of the necklace.

each guest can make 2 pairs of simple earrings, one bracelet or one necklace during a party.

fees are $12.00 per person. This fee covers the cost of all supplies needed to construct the earrings, bracelet or necklace with silver-plated/gold-plated/copper findings, the only beads included are filler beads. all other beads are kept track of by the guests and then added to the base price. most parents give a budget of $5 and up for each guest to spend on their special beads.

the beadbox is a great place to celebrate birthdays, showers and special occasions :: whether you want to share an evening out with the ladies or celebrate your little one's special day, beading & jewelry-making is a fun and unique way to do it. you decide how much you want to spend on the supplies, and we'll help you pick the beads and findings to fit your budget. you are welcome to bring cake, refreshments and gifts for the honoree.

we're available on saturdays from 9am-11am or mon-thurs after 3pm. please schedule at least 1 week in advance. most groups will spend 1 to 2 hours from start to finish.

ladies day out parties

what a fun way to spend an evening or celebrate a special event :: for bridal parties or just for the fun of it, plan a get-together for yourself and some friends to spend the day or evening creating new jewelry. pick out some beads or pendants and we’ll help you design anything you’d like. one of our friendly staff people will be with you throughout the whole process from start to finish.

the store

the beadbox was started in 1997. we were a small, little beadshop tucked in the king street mini mall. over ten years, allison verling built a growing gem. after working with the store for several years, nikki rezvani burris bought the store from allison in 2007. since it's beginnings, the beadbox has grown and evolved into a multi-use space for coffee, creation and inspiration.
